Did you know raspberry leaves are used to make tea and herbal medicine? The tea is super beneficial especially for the female reproductive system and during pregnancy or if you are trying to get pregnant. Not only do I enjoy eating the delicious berries, the tea is an everyday must for a healthy cycle!
Uterine benefits
Raspberry leaf has been used for years, even by Native Americans. It is known as a uterine tonic. During pregnancy it can help strengthen the uterus and pelvic muscles. Which in turn also strengthens contractions during labor. It does not bring on contractions, just simply makes them stronger and can possibly make labor easier and shorter. Few people even swear by it as improving their fertility when trying to get pregnant. Of course you always want to consult with your doctor before taking anything while pregnant.
Though you do not have to be pregnant to enjoy it's benefits! It helps promote a healthy cycle and reduce cramps and other bad side effects of a period. If you have heavy bleeding, bad cramps, hormone imbalance or unpredictable periods, you should try raspberry leaf. It's not a miracle cure all, but it does help. I drink Traditional Medicinals Healthy Cycle tea almost everyday. It is simply one of my favorite teas. It's naturally sweetened with stevia. I like to drink it iced in the summer time with some added green tea when I brew. I brew a pot full and put it in a big mason jar and it lasts in the fridge for a few days. Delicious!
I am not a doctor, so I suggest you do some more research on your own. Of course this is one of the few herbs that you cannot overdose on. Of course like many herbs, it takes a while to build up in your system. Don't be discouraged if it doesn't seem like it's working right away.
