So every year we get this weed growing in our yard. This year I thought I would try making a wreath out of it. Not sure how well it's going to hold up because I've never made a wreath before. It looks pretty awesome though doesn't it?
I started out by making a wire frame to attach the plant. Instead of buying a wire wreath frame, I made one out of some leftover wire we had laying around. You could also use wire hangers. Formed two perfect or somewhat perfect circles connected to one another. Sorry I forgot to take a photo of that. They do have plenty of videos online about how to do this. I then cut the pliable tops off of the dog fennel. You know the parts that bent easily. After trial and error I form it around the wire in bunches, attaching it with some leftover twist ties from bread bags. It's now laying flat drying in our garage. I'm going to try adding some other touches to it once it is dry. What do you guys think? Do you have any tips or suggestions? I will keep you updated on this this works out for me in a week or two. |
