I became more interested in essential oils, as I continuously saw them in many homemade recipes. This kit above is my first main purchase of oils. I had no idea what I was doing while purchasing. Like always, I purchase most things on Amazon and always based on reviews. I 'm glad to say I am very pleased with this purchase. I bought it several years ago and haven't even put a dent in it. I'm going to share with you what I use them for and a few things I haven't tried yet.
I do not use all of these oils, honestly you would be better off buying a smaller kit like this. The smaller kit includes the most popular lavender, eucalyptus, lemon, peppermint, orange and tea tree. If stored properly these oils can lasts many years and it's well worth the price.
I began burning the oils diluted with water in an oil burner. My husband and I are sensitive to those artificial candles and room sprays. The fake fragrances in products are not good for you. This helps freshen the air in the house while relaxing the mind at the same time. I burn almost any scent. Rosemary is one of my favorites as in helps clear a clouded mind.
Eucalyptus is used when we are sick. Add about 5 drops to the bath water to help clear congestion. You could also mix a few drops with petrolium jelly and use as a Vapo-rub. I sometimes add it to the water tank of my humidifier. Although it has left a residue on the take, but it's just cosmetic.
Peppermint is used in my toothpaste recipe. I also like adding it to the bath, it wakens you.
Lemon can be used in homemade cleaning solutions. It is antibacterial.
I always use lavender in a hot bath.
Clary sage is said to help with uterine issues, so it's great to add to baths for relaxtion of cramps.
Diluted tea tree oil is great for acne or ringworm.
Last but not least, I want to share a little secret. Drop a couple drops into the toilet bowl before going #2 and you will not need to worry about a smell! I know tmi, but hey it's great for public places. just carry a little bottle with you when you travel. Now I'm laughing my head off hoping you enjoyed that one as much as me, but hey try it!
There is so much more out there to do with essential oils, but that's my favorites. I'm sure I've forgotten some. In the future I may feature some individual oils more in depth. As always remember to do some more research and consult with a doctor if you have medical condition or are pregnant or breast feeding.
What are some of your favorite uses for essential oils? I would love to here more!
